Beeld & Geluid is developing a portal that will make large parts of the public broadcaster's collection accessible online to the Dutch public. This includes hundreds of thousands of programs created between 1920 and 2020. Starting in spring 2026, visitors will be able to search for their favorite programs and watch or listen to them online for free. Digital agency Triple won the European tender and will build the portal.

In 2023, Beeld & Geluid was tasked by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science (OCW) with opening the doors of its audiovisual archive to a wide audience by creating an online portal. This portal will showcase a large selection of material from the broadcasting archive. Soon, all Dutch citizens will be able to easily search for their favorite programs or discover suggested content. Radio and TV programs can be viewed and listened to for free, without ads. The available programs will include content that goes further back in time than what is currently available on platforms like NPO Start/Plus.

“We look forward to working with Beeld & Geluid to develop a platform that makes the Netherlands’ rich audiovisual heritage accessible to everyone,” says Lennart van Wijk, Managing Director Cloud Solutions at Triple. "This is an incredible collaboration where we can leverage our technological expertise to connect the past with the future. We’re incredibly proud to contribute to this project."

We’re thrilled that a renowned agencylike Triple will join us in building anonline portal where visitors can explorehundreds of thousands of radio and TVprograms. This will make theaudiovisual memory of the Netherlandsaccessible to everyone. Opening upour archive to all Dutch citizens hasbeen a long-cherished dream, and it’snow becoming a reality.
